Day 12 of the 30+1 Anniversary Fundraising Event

Miss Yifan Zhang is one of the students at UBSC. Here’s her sharing about the summer school program she attended.

The summer classes at Upward Bound Study Center were very impressive. I participated in the hybrid class trail.  I attended the online classes that were taught by the teachers that I am familiar with and students learning from home and at the center.  I was enrolled in the US History class. I learned a lot in history class, and Cody taught really well. I felt that Cody’s lecture was clearer than what my teacher taught at school. I am very fortunate to have two months’ learning experience at Upward Bound Study Center in the summer.

After 400 days of online classes and 60 days of hybrid learning classes, 56% of students returned to Upward Bound Study Center (UBSC) for an in-person class setting. During the hybrid learning classes trial, students attended the in-person classes twice a week and online classes for the rest of the week. For the center reopening, UBSC is hosting the annual fundraising drive requesting your continual support as we continue to serve the San Gabriel immigrant community.
