Day 9

It’s my pleasure to have the opportunity to hold a few teaching sessions at the Upper Bound Study Center.  The experience reminds me growing up in Los Angeles as an immigrant not knowing the language and culture initially.  I truly understand where the students are coming from.  At the same time, I also feel that each kid is truly blessed because of the education he or she is receiving.  The Upper Bound Study Center provides a transition for them to adapt the new culture.  As I look into the eyes of each kid, I see tremendous potential.  I have found out many of them have already set up professional goals already.  I truly believe they will achieve their fullest if they continue to work hard and get up when they fail.  It’s also my hope that each of them will accept Jesus one day who will provide unshakable foundation in their lives.

Hello, my name is April. I used to be a student and an employee of UBSC. I’m glad to be a part of the UBSC. I learned a lot of knowledge and experience in the UBSC. The Upward Bound Study Center helps immigrant students and parents learn more about American culture. Especially in the volunteer activities let the students feel the pleasure of helping others people.
