Day 11
Sharing by UBSC alumni: Jasmine Yong
I am a college student. I came to the United States about four years ago. Upward Bound Study Center helped me to develop my English skills efficiently. It has four English classes for new immigrants. It also provided a lot of volunteer opportunities. Furthermore, I volunteered in Make a Difference Day for three years continuously. I helped a middle school in downtown LA for packed school bags. I also volunteered at SAY YES Center to teach table tennis. However, I learned leadership skills and social skills in these volunteering experiences. Upward Bound Study Center trained me from a boy to a man. After I graduated, I plan to volunteer and help to design Celebration Dinners and Christmas programs in the Upward Bound Study Center. It also inspires me to be excellent for doing things. Upward Bound Study Center gave me much help in my life.
